How to register for classes at Sancta Familia Academy
Please use the form on each subject page to request placement into a class first in order to be sure that the classes you want will be available before following the membership and enrollment steps below.
Membership is $150 per family, per year for home educated students. $50 is due with your family application for membership. The remaining $100 may be paid quarterly ($25) or monthly ($10) with class tuition.
Enrollment in our home academy is $150 per student, per year and is optional for students attending classes at SFA who receive 50% or more of their education from their parents at home and enroll with the county in a home education program. Students wanting SFA report cards, transcripts, and diplomas, must pay the enrollment fee and NOT register with the county in a home education program. The enrollment fee may be paid in full upon acceptance into the academy, or you may pay $50 now with the remainder paid quarterly ($25) or monthly ($10) with class tuition.
Class registration and tuition fees vary and are paid in addition to the family membership dues and optional student enrollment fee.
1. APPLICATION: All families must fill out the family application form. There is a $50 application fee which will be used toward membership dues. This fee is non-refundable unless application is denied. You may pay by credit card online using our shopping cart (from the Family Application page) or mail a check to Sancta Familia Academy, 1204 N. Harbor City Blvd., Melbourne, FL 32935.
2. REGISTRATION: After filling out the Family Application, you will need to select your classes. You can request placement in a class from the class description page. The remainder of the annual membership dues may be paid now or you may choose to make payments with your class tuition. You may pay by credit or debit card using Google checkout. You will be notified regarding placement testing needs once you apply and register. Quarterly or monthly payments may be set up through Pay Pal.
3. PLACEMENT TESTS: You will be notified if your student is required to take a placement test to be admitted into a class. Math students must take a math placement test, and all other subjects require a reading comprehension test. Students entering the grade K-2 level will need to take a reading readiness test. Placement testing will be waived if the student has completed a pre-requisite course at Sancta Familia Academy with an 80 average or higher and receives permission from the previous teacher. If a student does not place into a desired course, he or she may prepare over the summer and retake the test in August. Otherwise, the student will be recommended for a lower level class.
4. TUITION PAYMENT: First tuition payment is due by August 10th and may be paid at the mandatory Parent Orientation meeting, at the first class, or online from our tuition payment page once it is published.
